ASAP Quality Accredited Operator Member Ascott, the world’s largest serviced residence provider, is looking to improve operations and customer experiences by trialling artificial intelligence, including the use of service robots. Initially testing in China, this frees up staff time for more complex tasks and guest interaction.
These robots move under their own guidance around the properties, including using lifts, to perform operations such as delivering guest items and collecting laundry. They also act as welcomers when guests arrive and can impart information about in-house facilities and surroundings. In trials, tasks were completed successfully in 98.64% of 165,000 service tasks carried out by the robots.
If suitable partners are found, the technology could be rolled out in the Middle East.
