There’s less than 2 weeks to go until the ASAP Convention – there’s still time to secure your place at the event with special rate tickets available for members and non-member serviced apartment operators (saving up to £250 per person!) as well as supplier and non-member opportunities  to be there!

We continue the countdown to the ASAP Convention in December with this new series of ASAP Convention Session Spotlights where we will be looking in closer detail at one of the sessions taking place over this two day event and there couldn’t be a more relevant and important session as discussing the safety and legality within the accommodation sector.

Day 1: Session 8:   Safe and Legal  – what is the sector doing?

Over the last decade we have seen the short stay sector grow faster than any other. This should be really good news for both the vacation and business traveller. However, the increase in available stock over the period from around 40,000 units to around 400,000 units has also led to a huge number of short-term lettings that are neither safe nor legal. New data shows that over 42,000 on AirBnB alone do not comply to the most basic of fire laws.

Alistair Handyside MBE who is leading the sector drive for all paid accommodation to be safe and legal and James Foice, CEO, ASAP, will highlight what ASAP, ISAAP (International Serviced Apartment Accreditation Process) and the sector is doing about this, how this may affect business owners and how this will ultimately benefit both the legitimate business short term sector and the paying guests.
