Amsterdam has imposed fines totalling €526,500 for illegal vacation rentals since last Autumn, mostly through Airbnb and A large part of that amount is made up nearly €300 imposed on one Airbnb management company, Iambnb, and the property owner, for breaking city rental rules on 11 rented properties.

Another key business, Keyokay, was declared bankrupt on Tuesday, following a fine of €67,500 euros. The three buildings in question totalled of five illegal listings and the owners were fined a total of €108,000, after complaints from local residents around noise and guest behaviour.
