When the European Union opened to visitors on July 1, the US wasn’t on the list of 14 countries allowed tourist entry.

However, US passport holders can still visit multiple countries in the Caribbean, many states over the closed border in Mexico, and several farther-flung areas although Canada remains on the no-entry list.

This article examines which territories are welcoming Americans, with and without special paperwork and tests, those that aren’t and their reasoning, and questions whether tourists should go, potentially taking the virus with them.
