Larry Korman, president of ASAP Quality Accredited Operator Member AKA says in this interview with Skift that there is a challenge around perception and awareness of serviced apartments and other extended stay among consumers, especially in the US, that Airbnb is helping to clarify.

The homesharing site has opened American travellers’ eyes to the concept of living like a local, and having more facilities than a hotel room. He says, “Let’s acknowledge that (Airbnb) was a disruptive element. And let’s see how we can make it a positive”.

AKA is Airbnb’s founding partner for upscale/luxury serviced residences in North America and its listings will soon appear on Airbnb Plus.
