Airbnb is rolling out a new feature called Pay Less Up Front to enable renters to stagger the bill for accommodation, usually paying 50% percent of the bill upfront and the remainder before check-in. The total value has to be at least $250, and renters have to book at least two weeks in advance.

In Airbnb’s limited trials, 40% of guests chose to use the service, and this new payment option follows the launch at the end of November of the opportunity to split payments between co-renters.
