Following government criticism of what it called ‘opportunistic hosts’, Airbnb has restricted all UK bookings from today until at least 18 April only to coronavirus keyworkers.

These include NHS and social care staff, and employees in the transport and food retail sectors, who can book via a portal called Frontline Stays, designed to provide up to 100,000 healthcare staff and first-responders with accommodation close to their patients, at a safe distance from their own families.
