Airbnb’s planned marketing campaign is going to be held over to save $800 million, meanwhile the company’s executives are slashing their salaries by half.

Its founders will forego salaries for the next six months, and new hires are put on hold.

Last Wednesday (March 25) Airbnb spoke to its bankers via phone to extend its existing $1 billion debt facility, and told employees that a 2020 bonus is unlikely.

The company aims to help around 100,000 medical workers and first responders, and will waive all fees associated with a stay during the crisis, as well as requiring from hosts enhanced cleaning, social distancing and 72 hours between stays.
