Airbnb has extended its ban on UK bookings until May 17, after a backlash against the irresponsibility of keeping bookings open during the lockdown.

The company officially banned all “non-essential” UK bookings on April 9, switching off ‘Instant Booking’ and staying open only for key workers as part of its Frontline Stays programme.

It remains unclear when exactly hosts will be able to reopen their properties to guests.
