webst29038In an interview with HOTELS Magazine, AccorHotels’ Chairman and CEO Sebastien Bazin has announced that one-third of future revenues will not be from traditional room and F&B sales, that traditional hotelkeeping is “under attack” by the digital revolution, and that the group’s focus now is on local guests, for whom they can offer direct services such as laundry, key service, package delivery, rather than just on putting up visitors from out of town.

Potential clients’ needs are changing and they demand surprises from the hospitality industry, so his plans include linking customer data with social networks, promoting the Jo&Joe brand which mixes locals with foreign guests, and a new organisational structure focusing on “agility” and “horizontal”.
