AccorHotels UK & Ireland has announced that guests can communicate with hotel staff in around 90% of its properties using WhatsApp, messaging a dedicated mobile phone number they will be given with their room key card on arrival.

Guests use their own mobile phones to make requests wherever they are, whether they are in the hotel or not, and before, during or after their stay.

This is part of a technology drive AccorHotels is rolling out across guest services and payment solutions. WhatsApp itself has over 1.3 billion users worldwide.
