A global marketing campaign to tempt people to travel to Hawaii is using facial recognition software to judge consumers’ responses to footage of the islands.

‘Discover Your Aloha’ promotes Expedia tours and the Hawaii Tourism Authority via a personalised travel recommendation based positive reactions from the viewer to scenes, shot by drones, including waterfalls, snorkelling and surfing, and is aimed at tech-savvy millennials and other travellers.

Discounts of up to 50% will be offered to customers who book through the service.
