The Berlin-based tours-and-activities booking platform, GetYourGuide, which raised $175.5 million in funding, will launch under its own brand name in August operating under partnerships with local activity operators. Local agents must adhere to pre-agreed best practices for meeting points, check-in, starting times, duration and more.

Initially, five GetYourGuide-branded tours will launch in unnamed western European cities, and this will be increased to 100 in 15 global destinations within the next year.

It will use its own massive customer data from 15 million tours from the last decade to plan how to run tours most successfully.

Airbnb’s Trips doesn’t look to tell operators how to run their businesses or to ask that all marketing be done under its own brand. GetYourGuide has rebranded with a trendy identity designed by the same company Airbnb hired, without changing the name.
