Yotel, one of the world’s fastest-growing hotel chains, builds quirky capsule hotels targeted at “digital naturals” who are always online; but says that as there’s nothing about their customer profile that is age specific, the brand is not chasing ‘millennials’ as such.

Describing most of the hotel industry as “a generation behind” airlines in its customer experiences, Yotel is providing its guests with seamless digital experiences, from optimising booking via mobile and tablet to digital check-in desks in its lobby. Its stand-alone concierge app, Shaggy, is downloaded by a third of guests, while The Yobot, a robot that looks after guests’ luggage in its New York branch, features on its YouTube account.
