A number of wealthy Irish investors have stumped up more than €7m towards the development of Marlin Apartments’ €60m aparthotel in Dublin city centre, reacting to a shortage of hotel rooms in the city.

Planning approval was originally given to construct a 195-unit development behind the St Stephen’s Green shopping centre (pictured), but it’s understood that the number of rooms will be increased once the company reaches final agreement on further land surrounding the site.

This will be Marlin’s first development in Ireland, adding to its six in London.
