According to the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, 2017 saw continued demand for international tourism across all world regions, from both traditional and emerging markets, and higher tourism spend.

China topped the list once again, spending US$8 billion more on overseas travel, up 5%, with the United States second at US$ 12 billion.

Germany, 3rd, and the UK, 4th, both saw a 3% increase in spend, Russia and Brazil rebounded from recent drop in spend and India continued its rise.
