Trivago’s new Rate Insights tool Trivago Hotel Manager PRO advises hoteliers advice on the most profitable rates in local markets to help revenue managers forecast pricing trends, utik=lising data from 250 booking sites and hotel supplier sites, trends in traveler searches, and a calendar of events that could spike local demand.

This follows Expedia’s recent revenue management tool Rev+ which enables a property to assess how its rates compare against local market rivals and to see predictions of demand in their market. Booking.com has also been expanding its business intelligence services via its BookingSuite division launched in 2015.

Whether hotels will trust the advice of commission-seeking third parties like Trivago when setting rates remains to be seen.
