Paris, one of Airbnb’s top markets with 65,000 homes listed, has filed a lawsuit against Airbnb, Paris Attitude and Wimdu for flouting local regulations on holiday rental properties which were set last November, limiting rentals to 120 days per year and requiring registration by homeowners.

They will be served a summons to appear before the Paris district court on June 12.

The city claims the platforms failed to remove ads for 43,000 listings which didn’t display a registration number, which left the hosts liable to up to €5,000 per day per ad.
