Starwood hotel group has signed an agreement with Saudi Real Estate Company (Al-Akaria) to open two new hotels in Riyadh in 2022. The Westin Riyadh and Element Riyadh will feature a combined total of 632 rooms, and mark the return of the Westin brand and the first Element in Saudi Arabia.
The Westin Riyadh will have 388 rooms and serviced apartments, while Element will offer its brand of long-stay studios, one- and two-bedroom suites for the first time in Saudi Arabia. Guests will share access to leisure facilities at the Westin Riyadh.
Starwood operates 53 hotels and resorts across the Middle East under eight of the company’s ten lifestyle brands including Sheraton, Westin and Aloft, and is on target to operate 100 hotels in the Middle East by 2020.
