Visitor bed space across the whole of Lanarkshire has increased by 12% since 1999 when research was last undertaken, and is now estimated to accommodate nearly 8,000 tourists across all types of visitor accommodation from both branded and independent hotels, guest houses and B&B’s, and increasingly serviced apartments.

North Lanarkshire Council’s Tourism Accommodation Audit research shows that Hotels account for more than two in every three (69 per cent) bedrooms available while self-catered accommodation accounts for 8 per cent.
