UAE-based Rotana Hotel Management Corporation is set to enter Tanzania next year through a new 30-floor Five Star hotel in Dar es Salaam offering 191 hotel rooms and suites and 63 serviced apartments spread across 24 floors.

Rotana Chain envisages owning 100 tourist hotels by 2020, and is looking for global expansion strategy to increase its presence globally and reinforce its position in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Eastern Europe.

 

Tanzania is facing shortage of over 30,000 hotel beds to accommodate the expansive demand in the hospitality secto, with 38,000 hotel beds currently available against the demand for 70,000, and is also facing a large skills gap in the hotel and tourist service sector.
