Financial technology firm Ferratum’s Summer Barometer has found that 19% of UK consumers are planning to use Airbnb in 2017, massively up from just 1% last year.

UK households are planning to spend 30% of their summer budgets on travel both at home and overseas this summer, with almost half happy to pay for a hotel costing over €100/night, but the UK will still spend the lowest proportion of income, with 34% of British households’ disposable income going on holiday spending compared with the European average of 54%.
