Qatar’s hospitality sector is expected to see a rise in rooms to 23,000 by the end of 2016, up 27%.

Some hospitality openings for 2015 have been pushed back by planning and licensing delays, but supply is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9% in 2016, with recent openings including the DoubleTree by Hilton Doha Old Town and the Shangri-La Hotel Doha.

Qatar’s hospitality market presents development opportunities within the midscale hotels and serviced apartments which are less well represented in Doha and present investment opportunities.
