Online budget hotel aggregator, OYO, has raised $250 million which makes a total of $450 million in seven rounds of funding, which will be used to strengthen its network in India as well as expansion in South East Asia. OYO competes with numerous budget hotel aggregators including Booking.com, Hotels.com and Airbnb.
Airbnb itself has recently partnered with several groups in the region, including Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation to list home stays on its platform and with Self-Employed Women’s Association of India to expand its network of homes in rural India.Read more:
