According to the GBTA BTI Outlook – Western Europe report, markets have snapped back after an initial slide since the Brexit referendum, but there is still uncertainty around the long-term impact on trade, jobs, immigration and investment.

Specific effects on business travel include the end of open skies for European air carriers; the reinstatement of mobile roaming charges; the likely new UK visa requirements which would likely be reciprocated across the EU; rising security concerns affecting checks at borders; the free movement of people and money throughout the EU; renegotiating air routes and gates; fewer flights and higher fares; the processing and acceptance of credit cards; and the end of the European Health Insurance Card.
