A new report has found that only 9% of UK holidaymakers visit travel agents to book a holiday, dropping to 4% of 18-24 year olds, although 18% of those over the age of 65 still visit high street bookers.

Almost 40% of UK holidaymakers search online through a travel agent’s website, and 48% of survey respondents said they would like to see travel agents invest in augmented and virtual reality so they can view destinations, hotels or transport in store before booking, suggesting traditional agencies could improve market share by modernising their technology.
