Oman’s hospitality market is expected to grow by 6.2% per annum to reach $1 billion in 2020, attributed to a 5.3% annual rise in hotels and serviced apartment rooms and 6.3% increase in international tourists, while hotel and serviced apartment RevPAR is projected to grow by 0.6% per year to reach $132 by 2020.

The World Expo 2020 in Dubai and 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar are leading to significant investment in tourism and hospitality related infrastructure, while the GCC region holds one of the largest hotel development pipelines in the world. Dubai is likely to witness an addition of nearly 57,000 rooms in hotel and serviced apartments in the five years to 2020, Saudi Arabia has a pipeline of over 47,000 rooms.
