According to the NI Statistics and Research Agency, Northern Ireland welcomed 973,000 overseas visitors in the first half of 2017, a rise of 4% on the first half of 2016.

The World Travel Market in London this week, where last year organisers estimated around £3bn-worth of business was done amongst over 180 countries and more than 50,000 travel professionals from around the world, saw famous landmarks including the Causeway Coast promoted to British and international tour operators to negotiate and exchange contracts for 2018.

International tourism brings around £543m a year to the Northern Irish economy.
