The MetroResidences platform connecting business travellers to “best-value at best-price” serviced apartments, has secured Series A expansion funding of 4 million Singaporean dollars (£2,285,000) from Rakuten.

The company launched 2.5 years ago to help make corporate stays more affordable while upholding consistency of experience, and enables guests to book online and communicate with guest services during their stay via the MetroConnect app.

Since December 2015, rental revenue has grown over 400% with more than 115,000 room nights booked by 800 corporate clients through the platform and the plan is to open offices in Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong.
