A derelict 1970s building in central Manchester is being rebranded as Three St Peter’s Square, a 20-storey hotel with 300 hotel rooms up to the eighth floor and a 262-bed apart-hotel above.
This marks one of the last pieces of the square’s regeneration which includes new office blocks, tramlines, a relocated cenotaph and upgraded paving and seating, as well as the refurbished Central Library.
Motel One’s new apart-hotel will comprise studio, one and two bedroom apartments in an L-shaped block. Construction is expected to last just under three years, with 170 jobs created.
Other major construction plans were approved at the same planning meeting.
