Planning consent has been granted for 1,000 apartments across a series of landmark schemes in Manchester city centre including the Old Granada Studios complex, the Circle Square development on the former BBC Oxford Road site, and the former Origin project on Princess Street.

The first will comprise 296,000 sq ft of floorspace including 305 apartments and an eight-storey mixed-use building. The former BBC Oxford Road site will offer an 18-storey apartment building, with 384 serviced apartments and retail space. Earlier plans including two residential buildings and a 148-bedroom four-star hotel on Princess Street were approved last January.
