According to new HRS research, Oslo and Dublin now rank higher than London as the most expensive capitals in Europe for overnight stays due to a decline in the average UK hotel room rates in Q2 2016.

Data across capitals in Europe and internationally showed a rise in room rates almost across the board.

Dublin and Oslo average hotel room rates rose by 70%, and Oslo is now the most expensive European capital averaging £186 per night.

In the UK, London (down 7%) is the most expensive city followed by Manchester (2% down) and Bristol (down 10%), but dropping rates could present a great opportunity for UK tourism and the business travel industry.
