According to STR and Tourism Economics, the hotel industry in London is expected to experience continued performance decline through 2016, but positive results are projected for 2017.  Factors affecting a less optimistic performance than 2015 include London hosting several big events last year, a growth in supply, the uncertainty around the Brexit referendum and the ongoing threat of terrorism.

However some classes of accommodation, especially mid-price and budget, are expected to perform well  in 2017, driven by domestic demand and the exchange rate between other currencies (such as the Euro) remaining low against the British Pound.
