This article in the Irish Independent discusses a recent report, Modern Traveller, by business travel organisation ACTE and American Express Global Business Travel, which shows that travel managers are still not fully utilising travel technology, nor putting employee preference, at the heart of decision-making.

Almost 40% of travel managers reported a rise in staff concerns about work-life balance, with over one-third seeing more enquiries about adding some bleisure time onto a work trip, 22% saw growing employee interest in sharing a serviced apartment or Airbnb property with colleagues, with 13% looking to stay with family or friends while travelling.

More than 60% of travel managers in the worldwide poll saw more demand for better travel technology tools, but almost half saw increased enquiries about their safety abroad.
