IHG has unveiled plans for three new Melbourne hotels, including its first dual-branded project in Australia, joining Hyatt and Marriott hotel and serviced apartment offerings in the city. Combined, these will add more than 900 rooms to the city’s pipeline of more than 9,000.

Launching in 2022 will be the IHG dual branded hotel, pairing the upmarket 181-room Hotel Indigo with a 272-room midscale Holiday Inn. Each will have its own guest lobby, but will share back-of-house services.

Close by, Hyatt will open a 280-room, 30-storey Hyatt Centric hotel, while a 176-unit serviced apartment project will offer the country’s first Marriott Executive Apartments. Also planned are new flagship Marriott W and Ritz-Carlton hotels, a Shangri-La and a Mandarin Oriental.
