Screen-Grab-Trip-Advisor-review-21.6.161TripAdvisor has started revealing the source of reviews for properties that use its guest follow-up tools.

The initiative that reveals hotel-prompted comments are identified as ‘collected in partnership with this hotel’.

A survey of the first 40 current reviews in some Sydney hotels show that most positive reviews resulted from management activity, some split as much as 75% hotel-driven and 25% guest-driven postings. Where recent reviews were generally poor the split can be the other way, with 72% of posters doing so unprompted.
