Data breaches at hotels are always a threat, and hackers looking for credit card information and personal data have hit many major brands as well as smaller hotels over the years.

One issue is that often front desk agents don’t log out of their screens or piggyback logins, sometimes leaving guest information on screen including financial information and home addresses.

One solution, HeadsUp FD, is being adopted by some of the major chains which involves wearing ID badges which log users in and out instantly. The system be installed an existing server and keeps hotels compliant with data regulation – especially in light of the forthcoming introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018.
