Choice Hotels International had a strong Q1, helped by its acquisition of economy extended stay brand WoodSpring Suites.

In the first quarter of 2018, ASAP Business Partner STR reported a RevPAR increase of 4.9% for US domestic extended stay hotels, with WoodSpring up 13.5%. The chain also saw a record 33 new franchise agreements, 31 signed since WoodSpring was formally acquired by Choice, with plans for 17 WoodSpring Suites this year.

The company also added 1.3 million new Choice Privileges loyalty members, and  saw an increase in direct bookings, especially via its mobile app.
