Following the launch of a new flight between Heathrow and Luxor and consumer research showing a demand from British people looking for better value holidays in 2017, the Egyptian Tourism Authority is predicting 2017 as a year of growth in visitors from the UK.

2016 is predicted to see visitor numbers fall to 300,000 from 1.5 million in 2010, but it is hoped the UK government will lift the ban on flights to Sharm El Sheikh, several months after all other European countries.
