According to the GBTA report Traveler Satisfaction: Exploring the Generational Divide in Business Travel, evolving expectations among Gen X’ers and millennials are pushing corporate travel managers to consider alternative accommodations such as Airbnb, realising the value of home-sharing for business travellers can extend beyond price.

This Skift article considers increasing corporate bookings on Airbnb and some of the documented cost saving per night over hotels, with reasons for users choosing Airbnb including price followed by location, authentic experiences and “an easy to use site or app”. It also cites rising satisfaction levels and willingness of travellers to consider using homeshare in the future, and the contribution that having a more interesting travel experience can make towards staff retention and cost-saving on recruitment.
