Around one in five of all hotel stays in the US is longer than five nights, especially on business, while five out of the six hotels in Extended Stay America’s competitive set are traditional hotels.

Travellers are generally using hotels rather than alternative forms of accommodation partly due to location or service amenities, plus the fact that much of US business travel still has to be arranged by corporate travel departments. Companies should now be considering an extended-stay travel policy that uses corporate apartments to save money and for the comfort of their staff.
