In a police dawn raid, two British tourists were ejected from an Airbnb apartment in Istanbul which was allegedly being let illegally, without being registered or taxes paid.

Their passports were confiscated while the police tried to contact the apartment’s owner, who had been in touch with the renters before and during their stay, but the pair had to leave with their belongings.
Afterwards Airbnb offered a £60 refund and a £150 voucher but continued to list the property. After The Times contacted them, the company agreed to offer a full refund and have said they have suspended the host while they investigate further.
