According to new research from Deloitte among more than 100 senior hospitality figures, London has been replaced by Amsterdam as Europe’s most attractive hotel investment destination, with Chinese and North American investors expected to dominate the European hotel investment market in 2017.

34% ranked Amsterdam top followed by London (32%), Barcelona (28%), Dublin (24%), and Berlin and Madrid (18%) joint fifth.

Outside London, Edinburgh is seen as the most attractive hotel investment destination in the UK, followed by Manchester and Birmingham.

Only a quarter were worried about the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

Slowing economic growth and increased employee costs are the principal concerns in the UK’s regions, followed by the fallout from Brexit (42%), but RevPAR is expected to rise across the country.
