In the light of recent terrorism attacks in Paris and Brussels, the US State Department has already issued a travel advisory to Americans going to Europe this summer, including the line, “Terrorist groups continue to plan near-term attacks throughout Europe, targeting sporting events, tourist sites, restaurants, and transportation.”

According to an online survey conducted by Skift on March 23 of among more than 1,100 US travelers planning to go to Europe, about 20 percent have already canceled their travel plans, and another 28 percent are rethinking them, while a slim majority said they are sticking to their original plans.

Millennials (18-34) are the age group mostly likely to cancel or rethink their European travel plans compared to other age groups, while the rich ($100K plus annual earners) are planning on staying away from Europe completely.
