Amazon has claimed at least two-thirds of the consumer market for voice-activated Internet devices and is now pushing its Alexa service to companies.

Amazon Echo and Echo Dot devices are already found in many US hotels allowing guests to control the TV, lower blinds, adjust room temperature and make front-desk requests. Best Western has experimented at about a dozen properties with Echo devices greeting arriving guests and offering recommendations on places to dine, and since the start of the year, 400,000 guests have been exposed to Alexa-powered rooms managed by Volara, a voice-technology company for hospitality companies working with 25 US hotels.
