According to research by Carlson Wagonlit Travel and the GBTA, airfares are set to rise by 8.5% and hotel prices by 9.5% for UK business travellers next year, higher than in Western Europe where the respective rises are 5.5% and 6.3%.

The biggest increase in UK airline prices wil be continental business fares, forecast to rise by 8.7% in 2018, part of a “sharp” increase in global travel costs next year.

The figures are described as reflecting a stronger economy and growing demand, with impacts from Brexit not likely to be felt until 2019.
