Tujia, known as the Chinese Airbnb, has announced that its orders set a new record with 56,000 room nights ordered in a single day, reinforcing that house sharing is becoming favoured by an increasing number of Chinese users.

First launched on December 1, 2011, Tujia maintains an annual transaction growth of 300% per annum, with an inventory of 430,000 online properties covering 312 destinations in mainland China and more than 1000 overseas.

China has recorded 4 billion domestic and 120 million overseas trips in 2015, and major platforms like Tujia have insisted on quality management on a long-term basis, to establish trust from users for this new type of accommodation.
