So far this year Airbnb has already accommodated more than 50 million “guest arrivals” which puts the company on track to pass 100 million this year, up from about 80 million in 2016.

Business trips to Airbnb properties currently make up around 10% of all bookings, and tripled last year, and according to a Morgan Stanley Research report late in 2016, 23% of business travellers will use the platform this year, up from 18% last year.

Approximately 70% of all room nights booked the US are business stays, and a growing share of all online searches is for Airbnb. However, traditional accommodations are still holding strong market share and increased regulation in major cities across the globe could affect Airbnb’s future growth.
