A report published as Airbnb forged a partnership with restaurant booking-app Resy, allowing guests to book restaurants direct via the Airbnb app, claims that guests at Airbnb rented accommodation in London have spent £522 million in local restaurants in the past year, £79 million higher than the same period last year, generating $6.5 billion for restaurants across 44 cities globally in the year to September.

The average Airbnb guest is said to spend $40-$100 a night in restaurants, much of which is in local cafes and family-run businesses since the accommodation is generally outside the main hotel areas, and 43% of all guests spending locally.
