AccorHotels is describing the next stage in its strategy as the ‘three verticals’ in a move to diversify outside hotels.

The three are its core hotel business, hospitality outside traditional hotels – including its recent foray into Onefinestay, Squarebreak, Oasis Collections, 25hours Hotels and its own Jo&Joe brand – and “community services”, where it is encouraging people to use its facilities as a resource, even if you’re actually staying at a Marriott or Airbnb for the night.

The three verticals will share customer loyalty programmes, databases and technology in common.

Nicolas Sarkozy has been added to the Board as the company extends its international reach and seeks further investment.
